Designer Shoes on Sale!
Louisaviaroma is having a big summer sale, including many shoes from the spring/summer 2009 collections. They even have quite a few pre-fall boots on sale, so if you're in the market for designer shoes, it's worth checking out, and the prices include shipping and import tax. LUISAVIAROMA.COM
Here are a few that I really like:
These Haider Ackerman shoes are 50% off. They look really cool on, the suede flap covers the top of the foot, but exposes the bottom half.
These Rocco Pistolei boots are 50% off. They are python with slit detail. Love them!
These Georgina Goodman shoes are 30% off.
These Christian Louboutin shoes 30% off.

Betty Jackson studded ankle boot is pure rock glamour
Most of us live in ankle boots for roughly half of each year, so I think it’s worth spending time finding a style that stands out from the perennial crop of black mid-heels that always seem to turn into a formless mush come January.

YAY OR NAY: chunky stems
In the nineties, we all suffered a bit of a seventies flashback, and shoes responded by turning a little bit – well – blocky. Platform soles and chunky heels were the thing all through the britpop years, before we all got into kitten heels which in turn led to the elegant and graceful (if a little tough to wear) stems that have been dominating footwear more recently. It’s easy to look at these chunky-soled shoes in charity shops now – particularly the ones with heels that flared out at the end like bell-bottoms – and think ‘yuck!’ But I have to warn you, the look is coming back in the form of tree-trunk heels, often in bright colours to enhance the look. Prada has gone in for it big-time in its A/W 09/10 collection, Calvin Klein takes and almost cubist approach (above left) Lanvin has gone in for a softer look (above right). Are you ready to wear block heels again?

Mary Jane Monday: Pedro Garcia leopard flats
Leopard print is almost as ubiquitous as black, tan and navy in shoe terms nowadays, and it’s a great fabric to go for if you’re planning to buy a simple, all-purpose pump you can wear day in day out but don’t want anything too plain.

Nicholas Kirkwood Patent Leather Shoe Boot
Finally! I have been waiting for the Nicholas Kirkwood fall 2009 shoes forever. I always love his shoes because they are incredibly interesting and unique designs. This patent leather shoe isn't even my favorite from the collection, but I do love it. It features his signature fanned out sides, architectural heel and platform. The shoe is mostly black patent leather, with matte leather detail at the front and snakeskin embossed leather piping. This is a great shoe to go with anything from a dress to slightly distressed jeans (not to be mistaken for acid wash monstrosities). They have a 5.5 inch heel and a 1 inch platform. Available at Browns, $882.
