
The train remains one of the most attractive means of transport to discover the beauty of a country.
And if it is a steam locomotive traveling a century-old railroad wanted the Austro-Hungarian empire, the appeal is indeed indisputable.
So here a proposal for an unusual trip outside to visit Slovenia.
We start in the morning, from Gorizia, on board a three no period, driven by a steam engine and go along a stretch of railroad Transalpina, built in 1906 to connect Austria, Italy and Slovenia.
A work of highly engineered, including viaducts and bridges, like Salcano, whose stone arch of 85 feet, is now the largest in the world and tunnels, like Piedicolle, which crosses the Alps in June lie for over 6 kilometers.
You get to Bled after more than two hours of travel, where you can visit the castle of the town, or enjoy the beauty of the village and its lake.
The return is scheduled for evening, board the train.
The trip is held on Sundays from April to September and is priced at 83 euros for adults, 40 children under six travel free.
